There will be plenty of news and surprises in the upcoming months.
The most important one concerns us very closely: this year marks the 40th anniversary of our company.
It was the year 1982 when Ennio Mazzola decided to start the Solema with the ambition to transform a small mechanic’s shop in a landmark company in the automation industry of Graphic Arts in Italy and all over the world. During the following years, together with his brother Raffaello and sister Maria Teresa, his project took shape step by step.
40 years of business history represent an important result, achieved thanks to every year’s resolution in offering the best products at an ever-higher quality. And our customers’ loyalty is the proof.
To better celebrate this memorable anniversary, we have been organizing a series of activities that will end in September with a special event where we will spend some time together with customers, colleagues, families and friends.
Right now, we cannot reveal you more. We can just preannounce that 2022 will be a very special year to us, but moreover to you.
Stars and Stripes celebrations
We are not going to be the only ones celebrating…This year is also the 20th anniversary of Solema USA, our Northern American division with the headquarters in Crawfordsville, Indiana, that came about with the aim of developing the brand notoriety in the area.
In the past years, Solema USA has significantly contributed to increase our sales incomes.
In 2021 thanks to our founding partner Scott Ellis, we signed important contracts with Northern American customers in the Graphic Arts industry, that will be carried out during the 2022 with the installation of several machines.
The new year’s goal, both ours and Solema USA, is to broaden more and more the customers portfolio, especially in the Paper Board industry. Happy anniversary Solema Usa!
Solema is Fair to exhibit all over the world
We could not miss the most important trade fairs in the Paperboard industry. The first one that will involve us is the CCE International in Munich, a European fair of the Packaging and Cardboard sector, which will be held from 15th to 17th of March: Solema will take part with its own customized booth where the latest news on products and services will be presented.

Online news: Spare Parts e-commerce and Uni.co website
To be even closer to the needs of our customers, in 2021 we started our first e-commerce and in 2022 we will launch a site entirely designated and dedicated to our Uni.Co. machine.
The Spare Parts e-commerce site has been online for a few months which involves a wide range of components, even rare ones, with a prompt shipping service.
Spare Parts e-commerce, supplemented with numerous products photographs and accurate technical data sheets, includes over 500 articles organized in 6 macro categories: pneumatics, transmissions, electronics, electromechanics, motors and accessories, each structured in subcategories. In Spare parts you will also find all those commercial components with whom our machines, and not only, have been equipped over the years and that are now out of production cycles.
We are finalizing the website designed for one of our flagship products: the Uni.Co machine website, acronym for Universal Converting Cutting Machine.
Uni.co is the answer for the customers involved in paper converting an innovative modular cutting system designed to be integrated into your existing machine. The website will have a configurator that will allow users to customize the machines at will.
Special consideration for the environment and sustainability
Following the past few years’ direction, even in 2022 Solema is committed to lessen more the environmental impact.
In fact, we will continue to use as less harmful materials as possible to avoid waste. In fact, the goal is to use more and more aluminum and ecological cardboard, two materials that, unlike plastic, are perfectly recyclable and pollute less.
For some time now, a recharging station has been installed in our outdoor parking lot available to customers and suppliers’ electric cars.
Last but not least... we invest in young people!
To enhance our productivity andto firmly continue toward the future, we have decided to increase our workforce. In fact, Solema has hired 10 new collaborators for the two production centers in Pedrengo and Torre de' Roveri. Another sign of the effort we are making to always offer the best to our customers, for today and tomorrow.
The 10 new hirings mainly involved some strategic departments of the company such as Mechanic production, Customer Care, Project Management and Software Development. The Software department has been enriched by the arrival of new people who will take care of the project regarding the "Robotic Arms", and which will represent a further strength of Solema for 2022.
