Some goods have a unique shape, not suitable to fit inside a standard partition. Lights, hubs, tyres wheels, mirrors, joints, suspensions, filters, shafts are some examples.

Ensuring their integrity is the first goal to reach. The solution is to pack this kind of objects in special corrugated partitions made of different shaped elements, designed to host these specific goods.

The packing field has grown by a 5.4% between 2015 and 2018, but more interesting is the 2.3% growth regarding packings from converting. A packing type often chosen both because of its flexibility in hosting a wide range of products and because of the possibility to be easily customized with print.

Until today, converting companies specialized in complex-partiton production had only one way to work: manually. With a number of operators, low production' ratio and manpower costs higher and higher.

Solema has the solution, allowing to automate the process completely.

A second injection unit is an option available for all our for corrugated partition assemblers (Andax, Andax-Wide, Andax-Jumbo). With this equipment, the first injection unit injects the regular transversal element, whereas the second one injects the shaped transversal element - that can be different from the regular one by shape and size.

A regular partition is generally a 'secondary packing' because of its function of ordering and protecting goods already packed one by one.

A shaped partition is instead a 'primary packing' because it is specifically designed to host and support the items without the items being already packed.

For converting companies, the advantages are two: to come out with multiple-item partitions, and to have a production process totally automated.
