Robotic palletizer arm

Robotic palletizer arm

Omega683 is the solution for all cases where there is the request of maximum customisation of the palletizing layout. In fact Omega 683 allows rotations of 90°, -90° or 180° for each pile, thus making it possible to create stable pallets designed on the needs of the single process. Flexibility and modularity is what best describes this end-of-line palletizer arm.

The tool is equipped in a way that it can move up to two piles at a time during each arm cycle.

A movable arm with suction cups is activated, if necessary, to insert the slipsheets between the layers.

FAQ

A robotic palletizer arm is an end-of-line robot that automatically builds pallets with finished products. Solema's Omega 683 is engineered specifically for the graphic arts industry. It operates with a fully motorized Solema gripper that picks one or two stacks of sewn, hardcover, softcover (paperback), or gauzed books at a time, placing them onto the pallet according to the selected pattern.
The stacks arrive from the line via two infeed roller conveyors and reach the preparation station. The gripper picks one or two stacks at a time, depending on the product dimensions and the chosen arrangement. Two laser sensors verify the height of the pallet and the product, ensuring that each stack is deposited in the exact position.
The Omega 683 manages various stack layouts, including interlocking patterns between layers. Alternating the orientation of the products makes the pallet significantly more stable, enhancing safety during handling and transport.
Yes. The gripper on the Omega 683 is equipped with suction cups that pick plastic or cardboard layer sheets (interleaves) from the magazine and place them on the pallet base, on top, and between layers.
It is the ideal choice when you want to automate the end-of-line without having the production volumes that justify a traditional machine, such as our Pluton palletizer. The Omega 683 requires a lower investment and, thanks to automatic changeovers, is particularly suitable for short runs and frequent format changes.
Setup times are approximately 2 minutes. The gripper and preparation station are motorized and adjust automatically to the dimensions of the new product; the only manual adjustment involves the infeed gates. The recipe is configured on the control panel with just a few parameters: stack dimensions, number of layers, selected pattern, and layer sheet frequency. New recipes can be created and saved even while the machine is running, so they are ready for upcoming jobs.
The supply scope includes the robot, gripper, stack preparation station, and infeed roller conveyors. During installation, all cell components including pallet stations and the layer sheet magazine are positioned, anchored to the floor according to the agreed layout, and connected to the production line. Finally, the working area is enclosed by safety perimeter fencing. Installation and commissioning typically take about two weeks, depending on the layout, and conclude with operator training so your team can run the system in full autonomy.
The footprint is defined on a project-by-project basis. Our engineering department designs the layout best suited to the available space in your facility.
The Omega 682 builds pallets row by row with a single pattern and a single pallet station, making it a simple and compact solution. The Omega 683 deposits one or two stacks at a time and creates interlocking patterns. The choice depends on product variety and available space; our engineering department can help you identify the best solution for your needs.
